Prepare to immerse yourself in the vibrant and innovative world of Australian gaming at the Australian Reception at Gamescom. Hosted by the Interactive Games and Entertainment Association (IGEA) in collaboration with leading Australian screen and investment agencies, this showcase features an impressive lineup of 25 Australian game studios, each presenting their upcoming titles.
In the spotlight are groundbreaking projects and fresh ideas from the most creative minds in the Australian gaming industry. Among the exciting titles to be revealed are Incolatus, a first-person shooter with a unique time and space manipulation mechanic, and Go-Go Town, a soothing town-building simulation game by Prideful Sloth. Not to forget the much-anticipated addition to the Dumb Way to Die series from PlaySide Studios. Emerging studios, including MAXART, will also debut their new creations, such as the lively party game Servonauts.
The event also serves as an invaluable networking platform, offering attendees the chance to engage with government representatives to gain insights on the dynamic gaming ecosystem and the latest funding incentives, including the new Digital Games Tax Offset (DGTO). AWS will also be present, shedding light on their innovative solutions and support available to the gaming community to assist in driving growth and scaling businesses.
The Australian Reception at Gamescom is more than just a showcase; it's a crucial platform for fostering collaborations, strengthening the games ecosystem, and celebrating the vibrant gaming community in Australia. The event is scheduled for 24th August 2023, starting at 4 pm at Hall 3.2, Stand CO10-DO19. It is open to publishers, investors, press, and industry professionals.
